This weekend I met a lot of people!

But the trip was good. I was expecting a lot more heat, but I was grateful I got to break out some of my shorts! And it was nice to not have too much of an adjustment from rexburg. Just got to wear shorts and flip flops! Everything is pretty flooded, but that was part of the excitement. I'd never seen anything like it so I was interested. Weird to see an on ramp to the highway and instead of road see a lake. And late one night I was woken up to the LOUDEST thunder I have ever heard in my life. And then the phone ringing repeatedly. (Garth slept through his dad calling to make sure the power didn't go out.. I had to wake him up) There were two storms while I was there, and I've also never seen lightening so close to me. Its just always in the distance. Was kinda scary I will admit. The street he lives on was a pool of water twice...But I also got to see my first fire fly! Pretty much the most exciting thing ever. When you hit them with your car... the look like a glow stick. I know that's weird.. but I was so excited. Check it off the bucket list. Also.. being hit on by old men. We can check that off too. [;
ALSO. I half way saw rolling hills. only half because I was in a car.. so its still on my bucket list.

I also got to dance with my fiance at Talia's wedding reception. It was a good time [:
Her wedding was so cute! Cotton candy machine, cutest first dance (they sang to each other), and cute little jars of candy for center pieces. It was really fun, and everyone danced. Loved it! So glad I finally got to meet her..even if she was busy greeting all her guests!

I watched Garth and Chris play video games pretty late into the night on Friday. It felt like old times for me when I would watch Kyle play video games late into the night. I also got to have dinner with his Dad and brother twice. It was fun to get to know them better. And I look forward to seeing them again!

As Garth would say, "Two Pimps!"

I got to meet Audrey, Garth's niece, and for the first time I was called "Aunt Amy". I like the sound of that. She has the cutest voice. We took her to the zoo but she had no interest in the animals.. just the fish. She only wanted to feed the fish- then she was okay to go home. It was pretty funny watching her run through everything just waiting to get to the fish. She also inhaled a burger and all my chips. She also really enjoyed riding on Garth's shoulders, and after she did it once she no longer wanted to walk. Not to mention she has a thing for seeing bathrooms, so every 20 minutes she was asking me to take her. So cute [:

So when Garth and I first started dating, I had a dream about going to Iowa. I was supposed to go twice but both had a change of plans. I FINALLY WENT. But anyhow, back to the dream.. In the dream ( I don't remember all the details) There were these fountains. And I was super happy at them, and he was there with me. I didn't tell him about it until he told me that he wanted to show me these fountains in Iowa. So.. we finally went and saw the fountains I had a dream about. Not that I knew they existed before hand.

The biggest thing I learned from the trip is that I'm so lucky. I'm confident no one is going to be able to find a fiance like mine. One who is so willing to do anything for you, and just wants to put a smile on your face at all times. He opens every door for me, including the car, he won't usually let me carry things (only the times I'm stubborn and make him let me help), and at dinner hes been wanting to dish me up so I don't have to do it. And it always happens before he helps himself. Maybe you think these are little things, but to me they mean everything. Lets not forget how often he is spontaneously turning to look at me and say "you're beautiful." Or always telling me how lucky he thinks he is. This boy makes me feel like the world, and I am so glad I get him forever!
I'm one lucky girl.

Exhibit a- a simple text message I just received.
he's been playing basketball for a while and so we haven't been talking
"Amy Lynn. I'm showering really quick but just wanted to say you're the perfect Fiancee. And I'm so lucky"

[: he's a keeper.

Shout out to the best girl in the world.

So I have to create a whole new post for this girl because we just talked on the phone and she's the best girl ever. I met her in college my freshman year but I might as well have met her back when I was tiny. The first day I met her we started saying the same thing at the same time, and it was just super weird. But we meshed perfectly from day one. She's just one of those people who gets you, and isn't afraid to show you how awesome you are to her. I've never seen someone so genuinely concerned for someone elses well being. On the other side of that, she's also got wonderful sarcasm and we have sarcastic competitive conversations that last forever. Our other roommates would spend a lot of time just watching her and I laughing at how entertaining we were. I don't think there will ever be a dull moment with her around. Sure we sometimes keep to ourselves and make popcorn with white chocolate, or order pizza and freeze soda while watching jaws... only to open the soda later and have it explode all over our room. But it really doesn't matter what we're doing. She's the coolest girl that will ever walk this planet, and who ever gets her is going to be extremely lucky. I can NOT wait to live with her again next fall and to have the best last semester as roomies. She's been a blessing for me and is someone I know I can truly be forever friends with. Not only do we relate in our sense of humor but she also has similar goals, morals, and standards. Its easier to walk beside someone who is striving to be on the same path as you. I love her I love her I love her.
She is the best girl friend I'll ever find.
Thank you Jamie Lyn!
And again: She's just simply the best girl you could ever meet!

I'm getting married. [:

Just thought I'd remind you guys, I AM GETTING MARRIED. haha. Pretty exciting.

Anyhow, really I figure because I have an hour before the next class I have time to blog! Its been a fairly busy week. I leave for Iowa tomorrow right after class. And I'll finally get to pick up my ever so perfect fitting ring!

Its perfect. [:

I was doing a lot of thinking yesterday, mostly because I simply can't stop thinking about the wedding and plans because I'm a girl. And also because we were talking about different tentative dates. (which made me super excited) But also because I was talking to a lot of my friends from High school yesterday. Most of which tell me I'm crazy, but that because they know me so well they know its legitimate. I don't mind being called crazy at all.. I probably am a little crazy! Anyone has to be to love someone. -We all have a little bit of crazy in us.

But I was thinking a lot about how grateful I am for all that I've been taught that brought me to this point. Not only do I like to think I understand the importance and difference of eternal marriage vs. temporal marriage but the gospel has provided so many little things for me. Of course I still have a lot to learn but I'm grateful for the foundation and perspective it has provided me. I've thought a lot about how selfless you have to learn to become, and how you have to work together to keep the romantic feeling of love, because without effort, that doesn't stick around. Its just interesting to hear people talk about future plans and it always involves, being rich, not having children, or simply not thinking about the future for a long time. I am just starting to see the huge difference in my line of thinking, and realizing all the blessings that are coming from it. And I think about in Leviticus about the "Strange Fire". And how they were performing a sacrifice, just not in the way the Lord had intended it to be done. I think this pattern is reflected a lot in the world today-- we tend to bend things and do things in a way which was not necessarily intended by the Lord.
You can see that a lot with marriages and how the idea of what a marriage is, is changing.
But. I'm just rambling.

I was going through some old things on my computer and I found a lot of pictures from me at younger times so I wanted to share them because all the memories associated are kind of funny and some tender. So here goes [:
