The Colorado Chapter

So I realized I haven't given a little life summary in a while.

So here goes nothing.

Garth graduated with his bachelors in December in Biology with a Biotech emphasis. We are currently living in an apartment in Denver, Colorado where Garth will attend Grad school this fall for two years.
The transition phase of moving from school, finding a job, and finding a place to live was rough. We did our best to rely on God's plan for us and be content with whatever may happen, but sometimes I struggled (more than Garth struggled) !

It took a while to get settled into the transition. We looked at soooo many apartments. It is hard to find a place to live in a new place, when you could choose literally any city.  Ultimately we decide we enjoyed having Garth able to come home for lunches when he was in school. We also wanted his commute to be minimal, so we live barely a 5 minute drive from campus, which we love. We also love love love our apartment!
It is nice to live on a lake so that Camden and I can easily get out and go have a picnic or take a nice walk. There is also a park and a pool on the property so we will enjoy those this summer I am sure!

As we have been unpacking our apartment we have just laughed at how much more space we have than in our old apartment. Often I find myself wondering how we did it! But such is Rexburg!

Garth and I like our new ward as well and we both have been called to two callings. We will serve together in the Cub Scouts over the 11 year olds. I will teach primary and Garth is the primary pianist. We are pretty excited to get into our new callings!

Garth works at RK mechanical and as per usual works way too hard. He's averaging about 60 hours a week, and still spends as much free time with Camden and I as possible.
Saturdays are our family days and we try to always plan something us three can all enjoy. We also try to always make sure Garth gets a nap on those days [:

Church starts at 1pm for us on Sundays so its great because that's the one morning we wake together and have nowhere we need to rush to be! We generally begin our day with a walk around the Lake. We are told its two miles all the way around.

Camden has adjusted well and seems to be pretty happy here! He loves watching the ducks at the lake, and loves being in his stroller. We went to the Zoo recently and he really enjoyed that as well so we decided to get a Zoo pass so we can all three go a lot this summer!

I really enjoy life right now. I miss Garth and wish he worked less, but I love having the opportunity to really focus on my role as mother and wife. I don't feel as divided or limited as different living situations and being in school have made me feel. I generally try to get out and run the Lake with Camden every day and we keep pretty busy!

Garth and I both really enjoy Colorado. The weather is so much nicer than our previous Rexburg, Idaho. It is nice being surrounded by everything we need. Target, Home Depot, Chipotle, Qdoba, Chick-fil-a, multiple movie theaters, Costco and Sams, multiple malls--all those things we were missing!

I asked Garth what he likes most about living in Colorado and he said "sunshine". It is sunny here pretty much most of the time. When it snows here, it melts within a day a lot because the sun is always right back out.

I like that too! I mostly love just being around family! It's so nice to have my little sister just come pop in for the day.
Or go to dinner one night with my mom. Also the frequent visits from Paris and Anna are pretty okay too [;

We will be here for a minimum of two years, but neither of us would mind if it turned out to be longer!!

Easter

We had a very fun Easter-y weekend!

We began with coloring eggs, playing outside, an egg hunt (that camden sadly slept through), and lunch at chick-fil-a -- all with cousin Paris!

Paris saying "cheeeeese"

Then for Sunday Camden got to rock his first Bow Tie!

I'm so very grateful for my family this Easter season.
Grateful for the sacrifice Christ made so that I get to have all of them for eternity!

The Extension of My Worth

**Just a warning there are a lot of pictures of ME featured in this post. I was just trying to gather all the pictures of Camden and I together. Feel free to ignore them [:**

There are moments in life when I realize that my power as a woman is not whole simply within myself. It is whole and intensified in my labors. It reaches far beyond myself and extends into all that we women do.

Moments like these:
Being a Mother has never made me feel more worth it. I have never felt more fulfilled and more comfortable in my role.

I know I say it all the time guys, but Camden is such a huge blessing! He is the brightness in my every single day I love having my little buddy with me in all things I do!

I fell in love with this little boy the moment I knew he was growing inside of me but I didn't know what an adventure it would truly be!
Camden is such an awesome little boy with personality just shining through!
He loves to babble and jump.
Finds the mirror hilarious--and for whatever reason every single time we go to Home Depot (which is a lot lately) he giggles tons! I don't know why but Garth would tell you it's because Camden knows he is in paradise.

Being a mom to Camden means feeling worth it every moment of every day.
When he stops what he's doing, turns and looks around for me, and as soon as he makes eye contact with me he BEAMS-- my heart swells.

He loves playing "peek-a-boo" and loves to hold onto people's faces.
He squeals at the top of his lungs and sometimes when he's in the shopping cart and does it people look at him alarmed as if he's dying. Then he smiles and giggles and they can't help but laugh and probably walk away wondering why I taught my baby to make such crazy loud noises!

He loves eating, he would eat all day long if he had the choice.
He has liked everything but cereal. Oatmeal, baby yogurt, carrots, squash, pears, sweet potatoes.
Too bad not much agrees with him--but at least I know he's not a picky eater.
Pears are Camden's specialty [;

Everyone comments about how smiley Camden is. Seriously it's to the point where I suck out his nose and spray his nasal spray in it and he giggles at the whole thing! Most babies cry and/or resist at his age. Nope not Camden.
He also had a rapid strep test done (you know where they gag you)
he gagged three times and then she pulled out the swab and he smiled really big at the nurse. She was pretty shocked.
That's my little champion! Who is either twisted and finds pain funny, or just really really strong!

I cannot describe how I feel at this point in Camden's life.
Motherhood is scary, stressful, crazy, and a blur sometimes.
But as he's grown and I've grown in my role I have seen how much he looks to me and felt his love. I have gained confidence through his innocent confidence in me.
I have relaxed and realized he will be okay, and I will be more than okay too.
He is the best little buddy anyone could ask for.
I feel bad that I'm the only one who gets this little guy 24/7!
